It is pay-to-play past level 5, however, if you plan to play this game consistently (1+ years), the lifetime membership truly pays for itself. While the controls can take some getting used to, they're really not too difficult. If you like horses, completing quests, racing, fantastical storylines, and fun fashion choices, I'd highly recommend. SSO is arguably the best online, open-world horse game available. But then again, Star Stable has employees to pay and a game to run, so the money is obviously needed. To conclude, parents, if your kid is interested in Star Stable, I suggest being smart about your purchases, and aware that the game is expensive in some ways. Which can really make a kid feel: “Oh, that new horse, I wanna buy it…but I don’t have enough Star coins.” And stuff. Our “friendship” became a whole “I have this, and you don’t! Lol”. It was never bad, until newer horses starting coming out. I used to have this “friend” who’d play SSO with me, daily. Horses can be at least $30 USD, which is expensive! And the most expensive membership being $75… It is easy to see that Star Stable is clearly “targeting” kids on their game to purchase the “Newest Horse/Tack!” During their Double Star Coin Weekends and such. If don’t purchase Star rider, you can’t do anything, really… And even after purchasing Star rider, players will have to purchase Star Coins to buy horses, tack, and clothing. No, it doesn’t cost any money to play the game, but after reaching level 5, you’ll have to purchase “Star Rider”. I will say this though, the game is expensive. Players can complete quests and races, buy horses, clothing, and tack, and start a club and make friends. SSO has gorgeous graphics for desktop and mobile players to enjoy and an awesome storyline. These codes are expired and CANNOT be redeemed.Star Stable is a fantastic game! I’ve been playing for 4 years now and honestly, this game has made so much progress and Improvements.
